From 199 schools audited by the Kirklees Safeguarding Children Board (KSCB), we received 173 (87%) responses.
91.9% (158) of the schools audited stated that their Safeguarding Children Policy has been reviewed and signed off by their governing body.
97.1% (166) are currently using the model policy for safeguarding children found on the KSCB website.
100% of the schools audited have procedures in place for dealing with management of allegations against staff.
98.8% (169) have a whistleblowing policy in place for use by all staff.
81.1% (137) have policies that incorporate the views and voice of pupils.
90.6% (155) are aware there is now a mandatory reporting duty to report to the police when it appears Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) has been carried out on a girl under 18 years.
90.7% (156) of the schools audited have safeguarding as a standing item at full governors meetings.
100% of the schools audited have appropriate recruitment and vetting procedures in place.
99.4% (170) have a procedure for the transfer of safeguarding records when a pupil leaves school.
100% have systems in place for referring safeguarding concerns to social care Referral and Response Service.
